Just wanted to introduce myself and my new brb, he/she is my first rainbow boa, and is about 6/7 months old. I have 3 corn snakes as well(one lavender male, one aztec female and one hypo lavender male), 3 german shepherds, 1 horse and two small children . Already I have a few questions about my brb but here are some photos of him first..

50 grams would be *very* light for a snake of the reported age, Emmy. Then again, it does happen: I just purchased a two-year-old that weights only 181 grams. Adopting a normal feeding schedule should slowly bring her weight back within normal bounds without taxing her system.

By the way, the pet shop told me she is around 10 months to a year, but from reading descriptions on this forum of other peoples brbs and their weights, it would seem she is either underweight or else younger than that. Has anyone any ideas/opinions from looking at the pics? She weighs 50 grams and is just under 2ft in length..

Thanks guys! Love him/her to bits already, so calm and docile despite being handled during shed. I've been bracing myself for the first bite every time I reach into the tub as I've heard they can be nippy as youngsters, but not even a hint of one yet!
