My name is Jimmy and i just got my BRB two days ago. His name is Chief and he is about a year old. Does anyone have any helpful advice? i want to start handling him a lot so he doesn't get mean and start biting. He seems nice and friendly when I'm handling him so far but when i put him on my bed to roam and went back to get him he struck at me. Here are a couple pictures of him. The camera and lighting wasn't good enough to show his iridescent colors.

Just keep at it -- once they learn striking/biting means you leave them along, it's over....

Yeah its my fourth day having him now and the first two days i held him a little and the past two days I've let him be. He has been hiding under the bark the past two days and it hasn't seemed like he has really moved much. So I just moved the bark around and found him then went to pick him up and he struck at me again. I haven't fed him myself yet and he might of started his shedding process but I'm not too sure.

Hi and welcome, Jimmy! I'd urge you to let him settle in and get feeding before you handle him too much. Watch the temps and humidity carefully, and double check for possible escape holes. As for his behavior, that's pretty normal for Brazilians -- once you set them "free" for a bit, they tent to take poorly to "recapture." This reaction lessons as they age: my babies are quick to protest, my juveniles sometimes do, and amy adults rarely do.

Very nice! As I'm relatively new to brb keeping I'll leave it to the experienced keepers on this site to offer advice, and I'm sure you will get plenty
