Posted - 03/09/2011 : 15:50:17 Hello! how are you doing? I saw this forum on the internet and since I'm a new Rainbow Boa owner, I was very happy to see that there was a forum where I could ask things about my snake, and also to share experiences with all of you! As you can see, I live in central america, more specific in Costa Rica, where you can find the Epicrates maurus in the wild... My RB is captive bred, selling snakes in my country is totally illegal, so my snake was bought from the only breeder with selling permits... So well, I really hope I can learn from you as much as I can, and I'll be more than glad to answer your questions as well! |

Really interesting to see a maurus from it's home country. It looks so different from what I know of the specimens I see here. What's *really* interesting is that it's got that big wide strip that mine also has, and again, that's rare around here
For reference, here is what my maurus and alvarezi look like, so you'll see why I was wondering http://www.therainbowboa.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1237
Your alvarezi is very nice as well! I'm glad you enjoyed the photos! I'll be posting more as my Rainbow gets bigger!

yes sir! I'm very sure it is a maurus :) I got her from a snake house here at my country, this snake house is managed by biologists, also, alvarezi rainbow boa is from Argentina, which is very far from my country! My rainbow is a pure blood puppy from a wild caught Epicrates maurus from my country, Costa Rica :)
