[b] Hi all im new to the forum so take it easy on me ive recently had a brb and is only hatched in oct last year will post pics as soon as she has settled in , but just wondering on setup wise , im running a dimmer state and temp is up an down like fiddlers elbow whats the best temp for her and were would you situate the probe as the dimmer seems to be on all the while ? she has hides in cool end with moss, a hide in middle of tank an cover in hot end also , along with drinking bowl in cool end and a moulded bathing bowl in the hot end also couple of plastic fern plants in there is there anything else you would add to this to get best results ... your advise is appreiciated

I think your set up sounds good

The ideal temp is around 27-28oC although a little bit higher won't hurt. I just think it's easier to get the humidity right at that temperature.

It is weird for a dimmer to be inaccurate. How are you measuring the temps? If it's a dial thermometer it's more likely to be that that's wrong.

heya and welcome
it's unusual for a dimmer stat to vary more than a degree either side of what you've set it at. is it definitely not an on/off stat? the stat probe should be next to the warm end hide. i'm not a rainbow boa keeper so i'm not sure of their specific requirements but somebody who knows should be along soon
