Posted - 22/02/2010 : 04:43:48 I've just migrated from the corn snake forums as I really want a BRB to satisfy my (ever growing) snake addiction!
I'm thinking of getting a 2009 hatchling, I've seen one advertised for £80 which I think is ok. I'm going to go down the RUB route and wait until its bigger before buying a decent sized viv. I've read up on their temp / humidity / food needs but do any of you guys have experience with hatchling BRB's and RUB's and have any advice to give? I have a two year old Irian Jaya carpet python so I have some experience with more humid setups. The questions I have at the moment are:
What capacity / dimensions are ideal for a 2009 baby BRB?
What would be an ideal heat mat in terms of size and wattage and does it go inside or outside the RUB?
Sorry for the essay but I want to make sure that i can take care of the little guy before I buy him!

Posted - 25/02/2010 : 20:31:16 Don't go to the reptile forums! We can't be that bad Plus I'm happy to pay for the server for this site- very quiet, hassle-free and completely friendly. Bliss!
I would just get a 20-30L rub to start off with and keep the heat mat outside covering just a third of the floor space. |

and yes it is quiet on here but it also means it doesn't take up as much space as TCS, and there's not any trolls on here either which is a bonus lol |
