Posted - 26/12/2010 : 12:11:34 hello new to this forum, im yasmin. we have 3 corns, 1 royal and 1 bci.
I chose all the above and my husband has finally started getting the snake bug and has decided a BRB is what we want next
so please can you tell me what the ideal set up is, a viv or rub? heard about the wood warping because of humidity?
also what substrates? we use aspen for the corns and bci, kitchen roll for our royal.
any tips, advice would be fab fab xx |

Posted - 26/12/2010 : 21:06:10 Hi Inky!
GREAT choice on the snake They're awesome, truly awesome. As Kehhlyr posted, the care sheet is pretty comprehensive. It's not too difficult to maintain the temps (max 30C ish) but the trickier parts come in maintaining 90% humidity, although it's not too hard if you plan what to do before the snake arrives. Theres a post about substrates recently in the general keeping section, and loads and loads of posts about housings etc elsewhere!
Look forward to hearing from you soon and seeing some pics!

Posted - 26/12/2010 : 15:11:23 Hiya Inky The care sheet on here: http://www.therainbowboa.co.uk/Brazilian_rainbow_boa_caresheet.htm gives a nice load of info in regards BRB's, aside from that all I can suggest at the moment is to have a looky through some other peoples posts to get an idea of how they've got setup and substrates sorted. |
