Posted - 14/05/2011 : 11:50:12 Me again!
I am currently using orchid bark, which is fab for humidity! But I cannot really see Rocky (probably the way he/she likes it!) I was wondering about other good substrates that could be used but are also good with high humidity? I use aspen with my cornsnakes and royal python, but I should think that this would not be suitable with higher humitidy.
Again, thanks for all your help! |

Posted - 14/05/2011 : 14:43:26 Just like you said Wendy, you can't see Rocky, but I guarantee he/she prefers it that way. I've noticed with my pair that with the orchid bark they like to burrow.
I know it sucks not to be able to see Rocky whenever you like, but you need to think about Rocky. With BRB's being nocturnal they like to hide all day. I'm sure blending in and burrowing goes along way to help make Rocky feel safe and secure. I'd say leave it as is with the orchid bark, I'm sure Rocky will appreciate it. |

Posted - 14/05/2011 : 14:09:41 Aspen is not good for snakes requiring the humidity that the does. there are a few options on the caresheet for suitable substrates http://www.therainbowboa.co.uk/Brazilian_rainbow_boa_caresheet.htm |
