Posted - 03/06/2010 : 13:32:43 i was wondering could you use the "popping" method, (hold gently just above the vent and slowly push upwards with pressure until the hemipenes pop out or not)  to your own snake or will you hurt it? should it be done a professional ? because i've seen videos on it, and it looks so easy but that may not be the case.  |

Much safer to take it to a rep shop. Most do it for free anyway. |

Posted - 18/06/2010 : 01:29:17 If you've not got any experience in doing it, then I would not recommend trying. Any decent rep shop would be able to tell you your snakes gender fairly easily.
Popping is only really effective on younger snakes, when they are a little older (as little as a few months with some snakes) they'll need probing. |
