Posted - 03/09/2010 : 20:13:08 So just to make sure I understand, by "didn't take tried all ways," do you mean him or you?
If *he* was interested: as in tried to eat it, but was unable due to size? Next time try a slightly smaller rat, and just keep the bigger ones on hand for later.
If he was not interested and *you* tried: next time scent the rat with a mouse beforehand, which may do the trick alone. If he still refuses, just let him go hungry for a week. It won't hurt your snake at all, and will make him more likely to go for it next time.
Hope this helps, |

Posted - 13/08/2010 : 18:25:07 A good rule of thumb for feeding is that a snake can handle a meal as large as the widest part of the snake's body. Seems to work pretty well. As Kazerella said, you'd be surprised what they can handle!
As another suggestion, try getting them to rats as soon as you can. An adult Brazilian can easily take a medium rat as their standard prey, which is much larger than anything mouse-land offers. Unless, that is, you want to be serving multiple mice every session.... ;-)
Good luck, |

Posted - 22/07/2010 : 14:40:16 Mine is only a few months and is munching a fluff every 5 to 7 days. But i guess it's what it's comfortable eating and when |

Posted - 22/07/2010 : 13:30:54 The length seems about right, but I would think he should be eating more than that by now. Have you tried him on a bigger meal? You might be surprised on what he can handle |
