Hi everyone, I've just found this forum whilst trying to look for ideas on suitable ideas for lighting my BRB's vivs. I was wondering what do you guys and girls use with yours? I have been using LED strips but thsy've been nothing but trouble and now they're all prsctically burnt out. any help would be greatly recieved :)

I don't use individual cage lighting at all. My Brazilians get room light and room light only -- which, as they are noctural critters anyway, seems to work fine for them. If you feel you must have cage-specific lighting, I'd check with reptile lighting manufacturers. As Smiffy noted, lighting + humidity = dodgy, and lighting experts may be able to steer you to a product made specifically for these conditions and therefore less likely to possibly fry or hurt your citters.

Best of luck!

Hey Scorpion , You could use a LED Push up Light i use this for one of my other snakes and it works great and they are also cheap i got a pack of 4 from Pound shop . I have provided you a link under just to show you what it looks like.

Hope this helps with your issue.

I'm going to look into some outdoor LED lights or just general outdoor lights :/

LED and humidity is a bit dodgy unless you want to go round it with sealent even then its not much longer before it frys.normal lighting units are best bet really the only thing i can think of to help is what im planning to do, which is to buy led fitting from a diy store and make a perspex box for it to slot into and then cut hole in viv ,secure then seal from inside viv .
its a bit of messing about i know but end result should look nice and last longer plus their should be near to no heat coming from light as it technicaly wont be in the vivarium hope it helps

I tried LEDS but they just didn't cut it.
I just stick to Exo terra units now.
