Here I have a new addition to my collection of snakes. Although I do not know the age or sex of this snake, it was in the shop for some time before I decided to purchase it. The snake is so friendly it's unreal, docile as you like, got it pretty cheap considering. I have named him/her Prometheus, after the prequel to Alien, not that I think it looks like an Alien but the fact it is a cool name. It's an Argentine Rainbow Boa, and it is approximately 3 foot long. I have put it in my large BRB's old terrarium so that should do it for life now. Few pictures below, comment, give me your thoughts etc. Thanks.

This is Prometheus in my hand just before putting him/her in his/her home.

This is Prometheus in the shop where I bought him/her from, I just had to take it!!

I think a varied diet is always a good idea. I've never heard that fowl were any less nutritious (though I could be wrong), and rainbows seem to love them a prey item. The only downside I know is that the stool is runnier/messier...but I could certainly see using one every third or fourth feed, so long as you have a safe source and don't mind the extra cleaning. If you do, please let us know how it goes!

my snake Prometheus has now calmed down so you were most probably right, adapting to it's new home. Just another question while I am on here, what advantages and disadvantages do chicks oppose when feeding snakes? Reason being, my mate has given me some said they're good for snakes, however, my local reptile dealer said he wouldn't recommend them because they're not very nutritional, especially compared to rodents like mice, rats etc, and they leave your snake smelling really bad?!?!?!?!

It's probably him adjusting to his new home. That said, I've never owned an Argentinian, so can't say for sure.

Are Argentine Rainbow Boa's more active than Brazilian's? I have seen my Argentine wandering around more in the past week iv had him, than both my BRB's have since iv had them! Is this normal orr?

Thank you Cliff Earle, it was a spur of the moment purchase, I had a bit of spare cash and thought why not, it was well cute. It's like it said on it 'buy me please' ha, yeh Prometheus was a secondary choice, it was going to be Bane, but Bane is big, and this snake will not grow big, so when I get a male pastel BCI I will call that Bane ha.!

He looks great, VXR! My own "Prometheus" approves of the name. ;-)
