Hey everyone Im Zer0 and I own one baby BRB named 'Alucard' I got him about a month ago from a reptile show in San Diego The breeder was a nice older gent who had been breeding for about 25 years with his wife I only wish i got there names but alas i didn't. Ever since i was young i have loved snakes and I still remember when i saw a BRB in a book i got I was about 8 at the time and it blew my mind!!! But alas my mother was scared to death of snakes so she would never let me have one but when i turned 18 (and started paying rent lol) I told her it was time i got a snake!!! A buddy of mine had a friend who was selling an adult ball python so i bought it right away. I had 'Vector' for a good two years he was a great snake very docile and friendly everyone loved him even mom warmed up to him but... When i went to the show i had no idea that I would see little Alucard there and when i did it was love at first site but alas i could only care for one snake so sadly i had to send Vector on his way so i took him down to the local pet store of witch im a frequent costumer (ive known the owner since i first became enthralled with snakes) the gladly took him and people at the store love him plus I get to see him until he gets sold (witch he hasn't) I was sad to see Vector go but i knew all my attention and money would go to the baby for a while anyway so it was for the best but I got my Baby BRB my dream snake and not a second goes by that im not thinking about him (its hard to do other tasks and be away from him) Anyway that's my snake life thus far i hope we can all become friends and share our knowledge and story's about our BRBs and other snakes!! |

I was there only Saturday, so if you went Sunday we may have had different experiences. I thought the show was pretty good. The crowds were packed for the first half, but oddly died out around 2PM. I found time to research all the Brazilian sellers (there were six that I found, but only two with snakes that made me talk for a bit), do some research on booth needs (I may do my first show this year), network with industry folks, and play "find the highest priced ball python" (this show's winner: $12,000.00). I also watched a friend with a booth play the sexing game with tons of (rather unhappy) snakes, lol -- Brazilians, as I recall. Finally, I hit the auction afterward, where I grabbed a nice cold beer and a plate of snacks, then listened to all sorts of cool reptiles and goods being auctioned off for low prices. All in all, a good day. |
