Thanks every one for your comments on Ruby
She has settled well and is out exploring most nights - she is due to be fed again tonight so will try to get some more photos.
Going to up the feed size tonight, I dropped it for her first feed knowing she had had feeding issues in the past, thought it best incase she was still a little unsettled from her change in surroundings.

You were smart to be cautious when feeding a "new" snake. Hope this one goes well too!

Thanks - she decided to 'chomp' stomach area first before eventually finding nose and eating.
No 'breakfast in bed' this time
I will now be on tender hooks hoping she doesn't regurge like Indigo.
It is great to know I have this site and it's knowledgeable members to ask questions - Thanks.

Quarantine? Oh oh, yet another thing I never thought of. I am thinking of getting a baby in May after they have hatched/are ready to go to new homes (a BRB). I am guessing I should keep the tank in another room?

Spugy - yes it is best to keep new snake in a different room from your existing collection, and it is best to handle and deal with the new arrival last.

Also, practice good hand washing techniques after handling all newcomers. Good quarantine procedures protect your already established collection from all kinds of nasties (mites, RIs and other icky stuff!). That isn't to say your new arrival will have any of those things, but it is always better to be safe than sorry. ;) A different room would be the best possible solution.
