For these next short entries, we are profiling our four holdbacks from the 2011 Hills-Alex litter. Born on September 14, 2011, all four just hit their one-year birthdays, and are shaping up nicely. We will cover two babies a week over the next two weeks. This is part three of the four-part series.

Everest is the top male of the litter. While a close contest, his vibrant orange dorsals edged his nearest two competitors to win the top male holdback slot. He is a friendly little guy, never passing up a chance to come out, and even occasionally coming out me meet me at his viv drawer.

Here is Everest as of his birth in September 2011:

Here he is at six months in March 2012:

And here he is at one year in September 2012:

Inside

He now weighs 288 grams (up from 228 when I wrote this), placing him a few months ahead of the usual growth curve for a Brazilian of his age. Going forward, we hope he will develop into a solid orange dorsal-red background specimen.

Thank you for reading,

Thank you, Graeme!

Is it just me, or have we gotten very quiet on this forum all of a sudden?
