hi there, i have 2 corn snakes and a royal python. I thinking about getting a rainbow boa ( hoping OH will get me one for christmas )
just wondered what everyones thoughts were. I fancy something different, unless anyone has any other suggestions. Interested in what you all think.

purely because i'm a Dums.........er........... enthusiast? lol

they're gorgeous to look at (IMO!) easy to care for - no humidity issues to deal with - although for a first-timer i'd recommend buying an established feeder as they can be very picky as hatchies, they're a medium-sized boa and something a bit different

this is my big girl Marilyn...

does my Dum look big in this?? lol

my middle Dum Bo who was a known poor feeder when i bought him

and 'JD' my 08 who has always been a force feeder, i'm in the process of getting him feeding for himself

and finally this is my Argentine x BCI Tease

they are beautiful. i'd have a house full if i could. sadly though space is an issue cos this next one will be my fourth snake. it will be my last, hence the fact i wanted something different. thanks for the advice x.

If space is an issue then I'd recommend a hognose snake - they don't grow much more than 3ft

Or a Kenyan Sand boa?

But, rainbow boas are gorgeous snakes. You'll not find a prettier species I don't think. The humidity isn't that hard to control once you get into a routine of misting everyday

well christmas came early. i went out yesterday and found me a rainbow boa. i didn't intend on buying but once i saw them i couldn't walk away.
he's very cute, 5 months old and settling in quite nicely.
i'm off this week because the kids are on half term, the only trouble is i keep wandering past checking temps and humidity like a thing posessed.

he's a brazilian.
can't wait for him to settle in. he's quite enegetic though. comes out and has a wander round. curls up for a bit then off he goes again exploring his viv. he's putting my royal to shame. when i go to have a look at brb the royal pokes his head out looks at me then goes back in to hide - but that's a royal for you.
the brb - name rio by the way will be my last snake sadly. i really won't have room for anymore once they're all in adult size viv's. but snakes are soooo addictive, how i'm going to restrain myself i don't know :(
