Hi there, I thought I would sign up here to get some advice before I consider getting a hatchling brb. I have kept corn snakes for 6 years, i know about humidity requirements and temperature. I have read various statements on vivatium size, when the animal is fully grown can I house it with a 3x2x2 vivarium, if that's to small, what size would you reccomend. Also I have a 4 year old daughter who does not hold any of my snakes but watches me as I handle them, so my second question is about your general opinions on how dosile/tame they are, just that if it constantly bit me for the next 20 years I think it might put her off snakes which I don't want because she loves them so far. Sorry if I rambled and if my spellings bad, typing on my phone!!

Matt

WELCOME, BRBs ARE FANTASTIC, CAN BE QUITE NIPPY WHEN SMALL BUT WITH REGULAR GENTLE HANDLING SHOULD CALM DOWN. MADDI MY 3YR OLD BRB HAS STRUCK A FEW TIMES BUT I THINK MORE OF A BLUFF, IVE NEVER BEEN BITTEN. I WOULD SAY 3X2X2 IS FINE FOR AN ADULT.

She strokes the corns and they run from my hand to hers and back onto mine and she loves it, I won't let her hold them on her pen as I think at times she's a bit quick and would startle them, she is getting better though! I just really hope 3x2x2 willbe ok as I don't want to go bigger. A locdl store has a hatchling in that's real tame, but it £195, how does that sound?

We will get on regardless, unless someone says 3x2x2 is not big enough.

It's just where to get one from now!

I would agree with £195 being a bit steep. For an hatching I would look around the £100 mark from classifieds or a show and up to about £130 from a rep shop.

That viv should be alright, although I prefer to give them a bit more height. They are semi-aboreal so appreciate a nice bit of climbing space if you give it to them.
