Hi everyone new to the forum and to snakes although i keep leopard geckos looking to with start with a Rainbow Boa as my first snake. Hopefully with some help from you guys and what i have found out you can point me in the right direction. I have seen a stunning Rainbow at my local pet store and would love to take her on when i return home from a holiday in Guyana. If anyone will be so kind to offer me any information i would be most grateful. Thanks Phil. |

I have seen that someone has baby Paraguayan Rainbow Boa's for sale but I am struggling to find pictures of them on the web. Do you know if they are the same species or sub species as the Brazilian Rainbow Boa, or are they different? Phil |

the only picture i can find is this http://www.google.co.uk/url?source=imgres&ct=tbn&q=http://www.tyrannosauruspets.co.uk/images/reptiles/new-20090823123550.JPG&sa=X&ei=lrtjTKDmMMTKjAfgsriBCQ&ved=0CAUQ8wc4Bw&usg=AFQjCNGm0Wvg874RGHxHvP-JnpL70ONIoA
im assuming they are a sub species due to the scientific names , but i do not know 100% im afraid so wouldnt like to say for sure |

I think it's a different species. There's either 9 or 12 recognised species of rainbow boa (some are being disbuted, hence the confusion), but they are all mainly differenciated by locality, so the Paraguayan would be a species thats only found in Paraguay so different to the Brazilian.
oh and welcome to the forum |
