Hi all
I know this is a rainbow boa forum, but I thought this might be the best place to ask! (im a member of The cornsnake forum)
Im collecting a Hogg island boa at the end of the month and im doing a bit of research 1st, so if any 1 can answer the following questions for me it would be appreciated - what are the perfect temps for a hogg island? Does there need to be a certain level of humidity? and is a hydrogometer needed? its a cb10 so what would the best substrate be?
Thanks in advance

I have a Hogg Island Boa & would say temps of upto 30-31'C (basking temp) should be fine.
As for substrate you can use anything from newspaper (i prefer unprinted), aspen, beech chips, orchid bark (kept dry) etc. I personally use a product called megazorb which i find works very well, just make sure that a plate or similar is put down for feeding to stop ingestion of the substrate
Average room humidity should be fine (40-50%), i don't use a Hygrometer for mine, be sure to post pics once you get your new addition
