Mayhem's Feeding Record:

Those 3 above was done with the breeder and then i collected Mayhem on the 13/07/10

Those 5 above was done with the breeder and then i collected Bow on the 10/08/10

11/10/10 Ratpup ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
11/10/10 Ratpup ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
18/10/10 Ratpup ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
18/10/10 Ratpup ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
24/10/10 Ratpup ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
24/10/10 Ratpup ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Hi Ash! Cheers for posting your Feed tables up... I know you picked up yours guys a bit sooner than mine, so have had more control over your feeds. What weights are they? Jade I think was fed slightly less, and she weighs 43g, and I'm assuming, is the same age ;) I'd expect yours to be slightly heavier though? Grab a set of electronic scales and have a lookie!

Cheers!

Thanks Oscar , Do you know how many feeds Jade has had ? and i thinks i gotta beat 43g and yes they are same age if from the same clutch unless it was born a hour late or something then i don't know haha, i will use my mums digital cooking scales but won't tell her that i used them for the snakes or she will go mad i probs will forget to clean them down after use as well so she may get sick i guess i will have to stay away from home made cakes and cookies haha

Kudos for posting feed records. Records -- of not only feeds, but also sheds, weights, and other imortant facts -- are a neglected but important part of keeping a pet reptile.

You may want to add refusals to your record sheet, as that can help you notice patterns over time. I always note food being offered, if it is taken or not, and if I have to coax-feed by using a cup.

I'm wondering if there is a difference in UK-US prey size labels? A rat *pinkie* -- newborn to a few days old, eyes closed, no fuzz yet -- is typical Brazilian starting food. A pup is two sizes larger in the US. As a guide, all of my *yearlings* are now eating either pups (the smaller snakes) or weanlings (the larger ones).

I'd be interested to see weights on both animals.

Bow is following a much more nromal pattern than Mayhem, but there's no reason for that to have lasting effects. :-)

I have weighed Both the boa's.

Bow is 60g is this ok for a 4month old that has no issue with feeding.?

Mayhem had a rocky start with eating but is getting back on track he weighs 47g and he is also 4months old.

I am going to list Mayhem's feeding record of an updated one i think its going good as he is eating now and he did a very nice coil/stike yesterday for me.

25/07/10 Ratpup Fed on his own
22/08/10 Ratpup Assist fed
04/10/10 Ratpup Assist fed
13/10/10 Ratpup Fed on his own
18/10/10 Ratpup Fed on his own
---------------------------------
03/11/10 Ratpup Fed on his own
06/11/10 Ratpup Fed on his own

Here is a pic of the very nice picture he let me take of his coiling moment last night..

His coil was so tight the ratpup was about to explode and started leaking juices lol.

Tell me what you think to it..

haha Ash, it literally looks like it's going to pop!! NASTY! I mean, like cleaning up the poo isn't nasty enough (Last week Jade decided to climb up to the top and poo down the side of the glass... nice) but I wouldn't like to have to pick up feet and ears seperately!!

Scanning my records, my four-month-olds have averaged 51 grams, with a max of 64 and a minimum of 38…so your two are right on target!

I am going to list Mayhem's feeding record….
My only comment would be to caution you on feeding meals too close together. It looks like your last two were three days apart? (Also, I think there must be a difference between US and UK size notation.)

I suspect this was supposed to be October 31? At any rate, *wow* that’s big for a 7 1/2 month old! At that age, my average snake weighed 81 grams, with my largest ever at 100. Mine usually don’t average close to 150 until ten months of age!

Nope that DOB is correct. He is a lovely long slender snake.
I got to see the parent snakes and they were nice and big

Sorry, I meant the second (feeding) date. :-) Your list shows October - October - August - November. Not criticizing, just surprised.
