I agree with Cliff, BRB's don't need heat lamps. Under or behind cage heating is all that's needed. You can buy economical pads, or even strips and place them so that you have one area/side that's normally warmer than the other area/side so that the snake can decide where he/she wants to be in temperature. They really enjoy having a water bowl/dish that's large enough for them to coil up into, not too deep obviously.
I use cypress mulch, they love to hide in it. I also have a piece of driftwood so she can climb up on (caught mine using it to hoist herself up to the top of the aquarium and was "exploring" all the possible weaknesses (of which there were none). This was right after her shed so she's quite "mobile" right now. I suspect tonight she's going to be quite hungry!
BRB' are MUCH more hardy than some would have you believe. I am blessed to be able to work with almost 1,000 of them, anywhere from newborn to 11 years old. |
