Hi guys,

I'm Mat - recently got into reptiles properly after keeping mainly Tarantulas with 1 Leopard Gecko - now have a young Corn, a horny "teenage" Beardie and a Royal Python.

Next addition is of course Rainbow Boas - we have a breeding pair of BRB's coming to join our little Zoo this week, so pictures will of course be following soon once their Viv is ready and they have arrived!

Look forward to learning loads from you all, big hello!

Hey Mat and welcome to the forum. Congrats on the upcoming new additions. Rainbows are awesome and though they require a bit more husbandry skills they really aren't as bad as some people would have you believe. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

If you're not planning on it now might I recommend getting their viv setup and running prior to their arrival. It helps to have a little time to work out any kinks with temps and humidity before the snakes are there. Makes for a smoother transition and less stressful for em.

Hope to see some pics soon.

1.0 Yellow Niger Uromastyx (Taji)
0.1 Crested Gecko (Unnamed)

Hi, thanks for the welcome!

Already on it I'm glad to say - Viv is sat currently with stat, thermo/hygrometer 'strate, ceramic bulb, fittings, hides etc next to it for me to assemble and sit fiddling with all evening -I love doing it! Won't be picking them up until a few days time and intend to have it all set up as soon as I get in tonight, so it will have at least a few days to test before the creatures turn up.

I've got the same basics as for my Royal, so the set up will be the same aside from the slightly lower hot end temps of course, I know BRB'S like it slightly cooler around the 28C area, so I'll make sure that's all sorted for them!

Pics will follow of course!!

Awesome. Sounds like you're already on top of it all. The main thing people seem to have problems with is maintaining the humidity that's required for BRB's. I suppose that's why most people would classify them as an intermediate snake.

Like I said, let us know if you run into any problems and for sure post some pics of the little ones once they get all settled in.

Welcome! I'm a new BRB keeper too, having got mine just last week. Had his home all set up and running smoothly first as well and happily have had no probs since.

They're a lovely snake to have and I'm sure you're very excited about it! Look forward to pics.
