Posted - 21/05/2011 : 11:25:31 I was thinking of putting a live plant in my BRB's viv.
Nothing flowering, just a leafy plant of some sort.
Does anyone know what ones are safe or have any plant types they would recommend?
Thanks

Safe too. Not sure if the official name is wandering jew. It's commonly called inch plant because it supposedly grows about 1 inch a day
How do you keep it under control if it grows so fast ?
Looks great by the way although I did see one article that said ....Danger: Handling plant may cause skin irritation or allergic reaction ?? The warning was aimed at human , though . |

I'm currently on the lookout for a type of vine called a Kudzu vine. There are many places where I believe it may possibly be illegal to have due to how invasive it is, but it's a strong vine that reptile safe, grows massive and quickly if left to do what it wants. Plus the leaves are supposed to be a great hangover cure as well.

Posted - 07/06/2011 : 00:13:39 Good point about them needing light .
What about Oxalis ?? Shade and damp loving compact plants ?? |

Posted - 06/06/2011 : 18:54:41 Won't both of those need sun? Brazilian tanks are challenging for plants in that most greenery requires direct light, but these snakes are nocturnal and thus have a strong aversion to light. I have heard good things about Pothos though. |

Cant see them being toxic although I'm sure I read somewhere that you shouldn't plant Buttercups in a snake viv . |

Keep us posted and be sure to post some pics once you get the plant(s) in. |
