Posted - 03/08/2012 : 17:09:41 I decided to purchase a second BRB - this time a little girl. She was an early cb11 but wasn't a good feeder to start with so isn't as big as she could be. A few pics before I put her in her new home to settle in.

Sorry for pic overload Thanks for looking |

Good quarantine procedures protect your already established collection from all kinds of nasties (mites, RIs and other icky stuff!). That isn't to say your new arrival will have any of those things, but it is always better to be safe than sorry. ;) A different room would be the best possible solution. |

Posted - 15/09/2012 : 05:29:24 Quarantine? Oh oh, yet another thing I never thought of. I am thinking of getting a baby in May after they have hatched/are ready to go to new homes (a BRB). I am guessing I should keep the tank in another room? |

Thanks - she decided to 'chomp' stomach area first before eventually finding nose and eating. No 'breakfast in bed' this time I will now be on tender hooks hoping she doesn't regurge like Indigo. It is great to know I have this site and it's knowledgeable members to ask questions - Thanks. |

Posted - 20/08/2012 : 11:39:28 Thanks every one for your comments on Ruby She has settled well and is out exploring most nights - she is due to be fed again tonight so will try to get some more photos. Going to up the feed size tonight, I dropped it for her first feed knowing she had had feeding issues in the past, thought it best incase she was still a little unsettled from her change in surroundings. |

Posted - 10/08/2012 : 22:48:43 I think they were selective who they let have her, she had been on hold, so I thought she had been sold but she went back on the market - they hadn't had the right 'vibes' from the initial person who had wanted her. We have each others contact details so they can have updates if they want.
She was a dream when I got her out earlier, the only scare I had was when she decided she didn't want her food in her feeding tub and proceeded to eat on my bed. I had to trust she wouldn't think I was more food when I gently scooped her up to put her back in her RUB |

Posted - 10/08/2012 : 18:55:55 Oh sad! If I ever had to give up any of my "kids", I think I'd probably cry myself a river. :D No doubt they probably did, especially if Ruby was well taken care of. At least she found another person who is going to love her fully and give her the best possible life ever. :) |

Posted - 10/08/2012 : 18:52:19 This week seems to have gone so slowly, but have managed to glimpse Ruby on a couple of evenings when she has been out exploring She was well loved in her previous home, just a change in their circumstances meant they were unable to keep her. |
