I decided to purchase a second BRB - this time a little girl.
She was an early cb11 but wasn't a good feeder to start with so isn't as big as she could be.
A few pics before I put her in her new home to settle in.

Sorry for pic overload
Thanks for looking

Thanks Cliff.
She was a little 'impulsive' buy. I had seen her advertised and liked the look of her from the photos, when I went to get contact details she had been put on hold so was surprised when she went back up for sale.
Went to look at her and decided I couldn't leave without her - she is a little sweetie and good natured showing no signs of nippiness.
She appears to be more orange in colour to Indigo my male, I need to be patient for my quarantine period to pass before I can really compare them side by side.
Is 6 months a reasonable time period or should I go for a full year - stupid question really as I'm fairly sure what you are going to reply with.

Thanks Jeff - I like her lop-sided lines on her head too.
Looking forward to seeing photos of Peanut - or the video

After last year, I'm very, very careful with quarantine. I used six months last year, and while better than 99% of keepers practice, it still does not catch every problem. I now supplement it by lab testing for the big bad diseases. For a home/hobbyist keeper, however, six months should be more than reasonable.

I was expecting an answer along these lines - I read your post regards the problems you had last year, found it quite scary hence the 6 month quarantine I intend to do.

Thanks Nathair and Incurable regards your kind comments.
Her week of settling in is up today, I can get her out and have a handled and also feed

Awww! Exciting! It is always such a looooooong wait when you want to just handle and cuddle and love on them. :D Kudos to you, though, for giving the beautiful Ruby time to settle in and come to see that life isn't so bad after all. ;)

This week seems to have gone so slowly, but have managed to glimpse Ruby on a couple of evenings when she has been out exploring
She was well loved in her previous home, just a change in their circumstances meant they were unable to keep her.

Oh sad! If I ever had to give up any of my "kids", I think I'd probably cry myself a river. :D No doubt they probably did, especially if Ruby was well taken care of. At least she found another person who is going to love her fully and give her the best possible life ever. :)

I think they were selective who they let have her, she had been on hold, so I thought she had been sold but she went back on the market - they hadn't had the right 'vibes' from the initial person who had wanted her.
We have each others contact details so they can have updates if they want.

She was a dream when I got her out earlier, the only scare I had was when she decided she didn't want her food in her feeding tub and proceeded to eat on my bed. I had to trust she wouldn't think I was more food when I gently scooped her up to put her back in her RUB

Lol, she'd better not expect such service at every meal time
