For this entry, we are profiling Malachite, one of our three adult breeder females.
Malachite was born in July 2008. We named her, as with all Living Gems females, after a semiprecious gemstone.
Here is Malachite as of October 2008, just after she arrived at Living Gems (and looking to be in shed):

In March 2012, she was paired with Picasso. He spent three months visiting her; they were finally separated in June. Her status -- gravid or not -- is still up for debate. On the positive signs side, she is spending all her time in her hide on the warm side of the cage, has gained some weight on a reduced breeder diet, and looks chubby. On the negative signs side, she is still eating -- which some gravid females do, but is not common.
Here is Malachite as of July 2012, on the occasion of her fourth birthday.

A good-looking female from a top breeder, she has a safe home with Living Gems for many years to come.

Love the deep rich colour of Malachite, also love the name. Fingers crossed she is gravid, as I think the pairing will produce some great babies |

Thank you, Sue! I'm hoping so too, those babies would have great potential. |

No, I'm sorry, I'm not convinced... I'm sure she's saying 'I'm not too keen on it here, I fancy living in the UK... that smart bunny seems like a nice person to live with'.... *whistles and tries to look innocent*
Beautiful snake - I'm sure she'll produce some gorgeous babies |

Whispers quietly to smart bunny - we should plan a trip across the pond, one of us could be a distraction whilst the other snatches snakes for a 'quieter' life in the uk .......runs away and hides incase have been over heard |

*whispers too and looks around furtively to check no-one's earwigging* right OK, so there's 3 of us in the plan now... Blackcat can flutter her eyelashes at Snakesitter and distract him with her charms, I'll hold open the pillowcases and Gmac can grab the snakes, then we all munch jaffa cakes on the plane back home. You know what, I reckon it could work... |

I'm changing my locks.
And making sure the local stores do not carry jaffa. You'll have to import your bribes.

Have no problems in importing Jaffa cakes for bribes - the locks may prove more of a problem. Think you may 'just' be safe |

And I'm placing a bucket of rat parts over the door on a pull string, do that both Malachite and Picasso issue warm "greetings." ;-) |

sshhhh smart bunny - who said I had given in, have to let him think he is safe, then we catch him off guard. Have renewed my passport, plane tickets ordered and stocking up on jaffa cakes. Have also got a large hat to catch the rat bits in. Thinking halloween - we can blend in with the trick and treaters. |
