Hi Gary!!
I feel your pain.. I've got a 45x45x60cm Exo Terra, and it's equally a bitch to keep the humidity! That's why I'm resorting to making my own self-sustaining Vivarium for my final year Project..
One or two tips on keeping in humidity at present.. Try putting cling film around the removable roof section, this should keep in MUCH more humidity. When I was running tests, it made the average humidity jump from 63 to 86%! score!
If you're using a roof based ceramic heat lamp or infra-red, just beware that this may melt the cling film, so cut a circle out of the cling film if that's the case, and mount it above the grill/mesh, and then below the mesh if not.
Not sure if this si the "safest" method of keeping in some humidity, but its a temporary fix. Just be careful not to leave the cling film sagging down, my BRB managed to slip inside. SOMEHOW. Escape artist!
Hope this helps.

Hi Guys, interestingly coincidental post....
i just took delivery of a 90x45x60 version. I set it up last night (without putting her in) and tested over night. I woke up this morning only to find that the humidity was at 86%. The probe was even on the cool side at the very top so that i could get a worse case reading.
How i did it....
I started by putting the substrate in (that dark wood chip stuff) mixed with a small amount of spagum moss. Then i put small amounts of rung out(not wet) spaghum moss around the outer edges of the bottom of the viv. I also placed the moss on the vines that work their way to the top. I dont have a light unit on the top at the moment so i placed a damp towel over the mesh leaving about 2 inches either side for air to circulate.
Hope this helps...

Some great tips!
Are these the glass models with the screen tops? If so, you can try having a piece of plexiglass cut to (almost) match the dimensions on the top. Much more durable than wrap. As for air, snakes actually need less space for exchange than you realize, so a thin line or a few holes drilled in the lid should suffice. I use Boaphile cages, and they have no formal air holes/slots at all -- just the space around the swing-down door provides more than enough air exchange.

I agree with Cliff - if you have a sheet of plexiglass and a bandsaw to hand - go crazy!! :)
Also, put your heater (if you have one) above the water bowl. The exo-terra fogger is quite good - just buy some de-ionised (distilled) water for it, it'll make the membrane last longer. You can buy exactly the same things from www.maplin.co.uk too and for less.
