For those of you who keep your boas in rubs, how many holes have you put in and where abouts?

I don't want to put too many in as I will end up loosing the humid air so any advice (and pics if possible) would be great.

Thanks.

I'm assuming you mean the overall enclosure rather than the hide.

The short story is that the fewer holes there are for air exchange, the better. Jeff Clark, one of the big rainbow experts in the US, has stated before that while most snakes do best with lots of air exchange, rainbows do best with little. This keep the temperature more stable and the humidity inside where you want it. Screen tops are horrible for these snakes.

What type of enclosure were you thinking of?

As Cliff has said above the less holes in your RUB the better it will keep humidity in.

@Cliff - RUB = Really Useful Box so like a plastic storage box.

Oh, sorry guys forgot I had asked this question lol

Yeah she's going into a 9L rub and I have just started off with a few holes. Thought it's easy to add more if needed than it is to take them away lol

Just waiting on a few more bits to arrive then gonna set it up and monitor the temps and humidity before I go collect her.
