So I have my brb coming home asap. Just waiting for a few things to be delivered then I am off to collect her. Even though I have corn snakes and I am very happy with their setup I still feel nervous about my brb housing.

I know you get asked this all the time but can I just run this by you all and see if it sounds ok.

I have the following.

9L rub
Heat mat that will cover nearly half of the base
mat stat
Hygrometer
2x digital thermometers (one for each end)
Plantation soil substrate
1 damp hide with sphagnum moss
1 hide (rough outside to aid shedding)
1 spray bottle to spray rub when needed
1 water bowl

Sound ok?

Sounds good to me! Is the hygrometer a digi or clock face one?

Are you excited Lou?

Ooops forgot to say that, no it's a digi one.

I'm so excited. I didn't expect to get a snake off my wish list so soon but I just couldn't let this chance go by.

I'm quite nervous too so expect lots of questions once she's home!

Yay, we can watch them both grow on the forum!

I'm the same, gotta wait for a few bits to arrive then make sure the rub is up and running ok with good humidity etc but I hope to bring her home next week.

Zippy is TD-SI-1011 from the same clutch, neither of you will be disappointed with your snakes when they arrive.

I've been setting up a viv for Zippy as after listening to quite a lot of BRB keepers I've decided to try Zippy in what will be his adult viv but with lots of hides, if he does show any signs of stress however he will be returned to a rub until he is bigger.
He has already done a little supervised exploring in it but the viv still needs a little work & a few more items before it will be ready for him to move in.

Good luck with both your snakes & I look forward to seeing photos

Another one! That's fantastic. Glad your pleased with Zippy. It's great to know we can follow each others progress.

Make sure you both stay on the forum and keep posting pics :)

Setup sounds fine but i would go down to dunlem or pound shop and pick up around 3 different fake plants so it can explore through them and as a shed aid if needed to.

Also you said one waterbowl , I use two one on cold side and one on hot side to increase humidity.

If possible if you have a park near you to search for some branches that have fallen from a tree you could sand it down and cut it to the size that you want it at to fit in RUB and then soak it in the bath with hot water and bleach for around 4 hours and then pop your branch in the oven for 100C for a couple of hours and then your brb has a climbing aid as well thats the cheap way of doing it or if you wanted you could buy a branch but they seem to be a lil over priced these days .
